Ultra-light weight and shorter length padded jacket designed specifically for medieval combat sport. Based on historical patterns with a modern twist. We tailor for women too, no extra ties and loops to catch in armour, just tailored to fit you.

This gambeson features breathable and durable fabrics. The super fast drying is achieved through the use of technical lining fabric designed for sport. Akin to the rashguard, this lining feels super silky and wicks moisture away from the skin. Quilting is through a single layer of fast drying, lightweight wadding, which is removed from the inside of the elbows and under arms to prevent bunching. The sleeves are designed for maximum mobility using a historical grande assiette sleeve head with ergonomic elbows. The outer shell is highly durable drill.

Ultra-light gambesons come with our Armour Attachment System as standard on the shoulders and upper arms, removing the need for arming points. Additional AAS for back of neck and elbows can be added as an option.

    Best on the market.

    This has been a God send. I’m no longer dragging around lots of extra weight or overheating from a thicker gambeson which carries more moisture.
    Furthermore this jacket dries much faster than thicker models.

    Tried and tested at Way of Honour in Germany, but the real test was at Desafio Belmonte where the heat hit over 30degrees. This was similar heat to the world championship in Hungary where I was heavy, overheating, and almost passing out. It was at that point I felt I needed to get a lighter gambeson.

    As always, the fit is spot on and has accounted for my weight fluctuations. Features wise; the armour attachment system for easy arming points, ventilation holes, and one of my favourite things is the rashguard inside. No need to wear any extra layers which just makes you even more hot and heavier with moisture.

    An absolute game changer.
